Before Europol and Netherlands police took down the Hansa darknet market, police in Bavaria arrested the owners of an illegal eBook trading website. The website allowed users to buy copyrighted eBooks for less than the publisher had listed the books for on other sites or in bookstores.
Former Hansa Fraud Vendor Arrested in the Netherlands
Earlier this month, law enforcement in the Netherlands arrested a 28-year old from Rotterdam for allegedly selling stolen or hacked PayPal accounts on the now-defunct Hansa darknet market. The press release on politie.nl revealed that information collected during the investigation into Hansa market vendors eventually led Rotterdam police too the home of a man suspected of selling hacked PayPal accounts. According to information revealed through previous press releases, this fraudulent account vendor was one of only a select few vendors caught via evidence obtained during the Hansa investigation.
