Welcome to Video Admin Fights Extradition with a Lawsuit

The administrator of a darkweb child pornography forum has been sued by his father in an attempt to block extradition to the United States for an assortment of child pornography and money laundering crimes.
The father of 24-year-old Jong-Woo Son, the administrator of the now-defunct child pornography forum “Welcome To Video,” has filed a complaint against his son for “violation of the law on criminal proceeds concealment.”
In the complaint, Son is accused of using his father’s personal information without consent to open an account on an undisclosed cryptocurrency trading forum. Son then allegedly used the account to receive and conceal proceeds of crime. The father also claims his son defamed his grandmother by clearing her hospital bill with crime proceeds.

Son ran Welcome To Video from mid-2015 to March 2018. Welcome To Video hosted more than 250,000 unique child exploitation videos, making it the largest child sexual exploitation market by volume of content, according to the US Department of Justice. The site reportedly received more than 420 bitcoins from its users. Son was arrested on March 5, 2018, in his residence in South Korea.
On April 27, 2020, Son completed his 18-month prison sentence in South Korea for producing and distributing child pornography. He was not released after completing his sentence and is now waiting on the Seoul High Court to rule on his extradition to the United States. A grand jury in the United States returned a nine-count indictment accusing Son of Conspiracy to Advertise Child Pornography; Advertising Child Pornography; Production of Child Pornography for Importation to the United States; Conspiracy to Distribute Child Pornography; Distribution of Child Pornography; and Money Laundering. Seoul High Court will rule only on the Money Laundering charge; double jeopardy laws prevent the court from making a decision based on the child pornography charges.
Seoul High Court will rule on the money laundering charges by the end of June 2020.

This is gold. A guy named Son, who is the son, fucked his dad over, and dad is publicly fucking him up over the humiliation and no no, wait there's more, he's going to say fuckall to hell with you paying G'Maw's hospital bill with money produced from videos of children having their buttholes ripped open. That is amazing.

I second that! I'm actually from the U.S., and I sincerely hope this man's family's legal ploy is successful in preventing his extradition here. He's a South Korean, dammit. Why can't we leave him to the laws of his own country? I have absolutely no clue why my country has taken to trying to pretend as if its laws and jurisdiction extends across the entire globe, but this type of arrogance absolutely must end, and until it does I wish every instance of it that is attempted to fail miserably. Also - people - please think a little bit for yourself and realize that the general attitude and approach to child porn in the year 2020 has gotten more than a little out of hand. I'm not at all supporting child pornography, but I would like to call to mind that what we're talking about here is sex. These kids, at least most of them, were likely not tortured, dismembered, or murdered. They merely had sex. I'm sure being exposed to sexual activity at too young an age isn't exactly helpful developmentally, but at the same time I just cannot for the life of me see how it is as terrible and heinous a thing as everyone tends to go around treating it as these days. It's still just sex, and sex generally != torture, at any age. It's my personal opinion that those people who claim to have been irrevocably damaged in some way mentally because they were exposed to sexual activity too young are probably just the types of people who have a lot of internal mental problems and would have had most of them regardless and just so happen to also have some event within their past that they can point to which will fill the role of a scapegoat for their own lack of direction and, for most of the rest of society, will unquestioningly let them off the hook for their own personal failings. I feel more sorry for those people who have failed at life but don't have any such easy target to fill in as an explanation for why. Regardless, though, I cannot see the connection between sex at a young age and most of the psychological "trauma" that is assumed to accompany it. It's not that complicated a thing, and it really doesn't have to be such a big deal in general. People blow all of this stuff way out of proportion though and I have never been able to figure out why. Also, while we're on the subject, child porn is videos of those aged 11 and under. Physiologically, twelve and over are fair game, regardless of whatever randomness the legal system wants to try and foist upon us. Physiology > law. Never forget the difference between those things that are fundamentally and actually real and those things that some people on a committee merely made up at some point and which could have been made up any number of other ways if they had so chosen. That category of thing - which includes most of the world's laws - simply aren't important. And finally, let's please remember too that what we're talking about here is one more step removed from the actual act of sex - it's the sharing of what are, in most cases, likely other peoples' videos. So chill out people. Think for yourself a little and don't just swallow what you're taught and what you happen to hear hook line and sinker. There's a lot out there that's generally accepted for no good reason at all and in fact makes a whole lot less sense than everyone likes to pretend - ideas which survive mainly through lack of any actual scrutiny being directed at them. The prevailing attitudes toward child porn are prime examples of strong opinions loudly held by people who, for the most part, haven't spent a single moment of time critically evaluating the propaganda they've gleefully adopted as their own indignantly righteous perspective. I'm so sick and tired of seeing these types of comments about how people should be locked up forever or have their dicks cut off. The emasculation comments in particular always seems to come from some mouth-breather in very short order after the subject of child porn is broached anywhere - what, did you think you were original or something? Farthest from it you could possibly get, ya two-bit cookie-cutter lemming. Try to be more your own person and think for yourself. Indignation does not combine well with ignorance.

bro i cannot believe this motherfucker is trying to white wash sexually abusing children and then exploiting it for profit. real libertarian content. this isn't about the freedom to use drugs or own 50 guns. for consenting adults, sex !=torture. an adult who had sex non consensually (rape or sexual assault) will tell u a different story. humans have collectively decided that children are unable to fully comprehend their actions, and the inherent power differential between adults and children makes things like coercion thru intimidation, promises of favors, and "this for that" deals extremely likely. ur opinion about victims of sexual abuse being "the type of people who have a lot of mental problems regardless" leads me to believe that maybe u have some mental problems urself. also, you feel worse for people who failed at life with no discernible reason (generally these people are called losers) than victims of traumatic experiences fortunately for society, doctors and scientists, unlike u, understand the connection between child sexual abuse and mental illness , and have even been able to demonstrate it through brain scans (just in case you think psychiatry is a quack discipline). ethical people think its a big deal, any violence (such as sexual abuse of children) that could be levied towards those in society with the least power, children, ought to be stopped. 12 is older is fair game for other 12 year olds, but not for u. i'm not making a defense of law-making institutions, but not only do teenage parents face many more life challenges but their children also have worse life outcomes. its pseudo-astute of you to not that laws were created by people. most things, including the language that structures your thoughts, was made up. that does not mean it is not real, and it is important. you try and excuse child pornography consumers by noting that they didn't rape any children themselves, they just watched it happen. this is perhaps almost as sickening as sexually exploiting children; the commodification of violence for people like you's viewing pleasure. disgusting. the entire last part is lunatic rambling. you tell us to think for ourselves, but its clear that you aren't doing any thinking at all. theres not a class in high schools that discusses the morality of child sexual abuse or pornography of it, where is the child porn propaganda? is it too hard to believe that perhaps most people have critically evaluated this issue, and you're just upset they find your hobby disgusting? by and large the most ignorant and cringe comment ive read in years. great roleplay of pseudo intellectualism, its clear you wanted to be as edgy as possible writing this garbage. i hope your family, friends, and place of employment find out you post shit like this. maybe they can knock some sense of whats right and wrong into u before law enforcement picks you up for cp and your fellow inmates reenact whats in that pornography with you, and you get to play the child !!! u absolute monster
