Roger Clark aka Variety Jones pleaded not guilty at his arraignment hearing before Judge William H. Pauley, III. He is currently being held at the Brooklyn MDC via detention on consent without prejudice.
He pleaded not guilty to all six charges: Narcotics Trafficking; Conspiracy to Traffic Narcotics; Distribution of Narcotics via the Internet; Conspiracy to Commit or Aid Computer Hacking; Conspiracy to Traffic in Fraudulent Identity Documents; and Money Laundering Conspiracy. Note that pleading not guilty at an arraignment hearing is both standard practice and the only sensible thing to do. Clark was joined by his attorney Stephanie Carvlin. Special Agent Samad Shaliran, of the FBI, and Special Agent Gary Alford of the IRS was also present.
Clark has been charged for crimes allegedly committed in connection with the Silk Road marketplace. The story has been extensively covered.
