39 Arrested in Italy for Selling Drugs on the Darkweb

Italian law enforcement arrested 39 people for allegedly selling drugs on the darkweb.
The Carabinieri (of the Health Protection Command) arrested 39 suspects accused of engaging in the trafficking of a wide variety of drugs through the darkweb.
The suspects were arrested as a result of investigations coordinated by the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office. The investigations targeted people suspected of importing or trafficking a wide variety of drugs including large quantities of GHB, heroin, cannabis, and other drugs via the darkweb.
The operation involved two separate undercover investigations. One of the investigations resulted in the seizure of 42 liters of GHB, 8 grams of heroin, and 115 grams of cannabis. Additionally, law enforcement seized 1.3 kilograms of synthetic drugs, including 116 grams of fentanyl, 1.2 kilograms of cathinone, and flualprazolam.
In later searches, law enforcement seized additional contraband. The searches resulted in the seizure of 6 liters of GHB, approximately 150 grams of synthetic cathinone, and other drugs. The investigators also seized documents that will be used in conducting further investigations.
The investigations resulted in the identification and arrest of a total of 39 suspects. Eleven of the arrested suspects were detained while 28 were released and placed under house arrest.
