Germany: Seven Arrested for Vending on DarkMarket

Seven Germans are facing charges in connection with drug trafficking on the darkweb.
The General Public Prosecutor’s Office in Koblenz filed an indictment against seven people for importing drugs from the Netherlands and selling them on the now-defunct DarkMarket marketplace.
The General Public Prosecutor’s Office in Koblenz announced in a press release that the charges against the seven defendants aged between 29 and 65 years old were filed at the Trier Regional Court. The defendants allegedly imported large quantities of amphetamine, heroin, and MDMA from the Netherlands. After receiving the packages, the suspects allegedly resold them through various darkweb marketplaces, including on DarkMarket.
A year-long investigation by the State Criminal Police Office in Rhineland-Palatinate resulted in the identification and arrest of the seven suspects listed in the indictment. Investigators intercepted and seized more than 180 drug packages during the investigation. The interceptions resulted in the confiscation of more than 10 kilograms of amphetamine and more than 7,900 ecstasy pills.
After identifying the suspects, police executed search warrants in Rhineland-Palatinate, Bavaria, and North Rhine-Westphalia on February 8, 2021. The searches resulted in the seizure of approximately 30 kilograms of drugs, including 25 kilograms of amphetamine. The searches also resulted in three arrests.
The indictment alleges that the defendants sold more than 426.67 kilograms of amphetamine, 3.87 kilograms of heroin, 2 kilograms of MDMA, 15.96 kilograms of hashish after fulfilling more than 1,400 orders.
The defendant’s trial date has not yet been set. The three suspects arrested during the searches remain in custody, including one who allegedly confessed to the police.
The prosecutor’s office did not reveal the username of the vendor account allegedly operated by the defendants.
