“We are very responsive to issues and are quick to provide help,” the market’s admin wrote in a post advertising the market. A Reddit user recently posted a message from a Sourcery administrator that indicated the market will likely remain down. The market showed potential when it launched and claimed to have found a way around the DDoS attacks, but dissapeared not long afterwards.
The message from the Sourcery market admin (forgive the OCR mistakes):
[Market user], your message has truly made me feel grant, I will share WM the others as well because our driving philosophical ball of is that we put security first, then buyer/vendor coin, than a distant third is market profit. We consider ourselves to be nearly I est in priorities and needs. First and foremost, we are a part of this community. As you say, it be a very dark place with less than honorable figures, but we also know there are plenty of honest hard working people and our goal was always to provide a way that was safe to vend. That means we put highest priority on security These DDoS attacks are concerning and with the current production release of Tor, we do not feel very comfortable with it. We are hoping that Tor releases the new version so on or es en alternate, we are doing extensive resting on the alpha version. I’m not thrilled about going live with an alpha version of Tor though. We have long said that if there was anything that composed a security risk, that we weed mitigate that above all else and for everyone’s protection. We take very seriously the commitment we make to every vendor and buyer. Our commitment is to protect your corn from hackers, LE, and even from us. The u why we built a verifiable multisig system. If we happen not to survive the long term we hope that we have made a mark on the darknet markets. I do see many in the community demanding markets do true multisig and that makes me feel green I do feel we have educated the community on multisig and implementation. When we went public and before Hansa fell, nobody gave any thought that Hansa could take coin. We saw that cony on and that’s why we bog our system the way It is. But at the time, we were nobodies and Hansa was a well respected market so we were derided when we mentioned the vulnerabilities of Hanes’s system Then with Hansa, and TradeRoute folding by LE it seems, people ere seeing the picture we saw a year ago when we engaged on the journey! It took a while but I see many in the community now seeing that a darknet market can be built without touching user coin. My goal is for sure to be the market leader in this area. But that isn’t in the cards. I will gladly take making a emotive impact on the darknet scene. I would feel at least we’ve made some contribution to you. Continued at the link.
